Kimono Salone in Nihonbashi 2017
Outline● Kimono Carnival (YUITO) Friday, October 6 - Sunday, October 8
Nearly 100 shops will open over a three-day period, offering a variety of products from kimonos and obis to gifts and accessories. Festivities will include stage events and hands-on opportunities, and 100 mannequins will be coordinated in kimonos throughout the venue by each shop with a winner chosen by popular vote.
● Kimono Collection (Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall) Friday, October 6 - Saturday, October 7
New kimonos will be unveiled at events, fashion shows, and exhibitions where the general public can enjoy a broad array of kimono fashions and Japanese culture.
On Friday, October 6, the Grand Prix winner will be selected from ten entries in the Student Design Contest 2017, among other events.
On Saturday, October 7, the Tokyo Kimono Collection fashion show will feature three stages by four designers.
・Exhibition： Exposition of Kimono Production Areas
This exhibition will showcase the valuable techniques carried from the past to the present day along with innovative ideas for the future from areas all over Japan where kimonos are woven and dyed. An opportunity for kimono producers and wearers to meet, with popular making demonstrations and hands-on events.
